Having spent over 18 years in the industry, Jess' believes that hair should be effortless. Having trained with both Vidal Sassoon Academy and Aveda amongst others, she has a strong foundation that she brings to her work. She looks at hair as fabric. She sculpts and shapes the hair so that minimal styling is needed to achieve the desired look. She takes the time to listen to her clients and custom tailors haircuts and colors to suit their needs and personal style.
Jess thrives on challenges. No haircut is too impossible or too wild. She specializes in men's barbering and women's short hair. Having trained in the Sassoon tradition, precision haircuts and avant garde styles are areas of interest. She continues to study the craft and learn from her peers.
When not in the salon, Jess is often out exploring the great outdoors. Her days off are spent hiking, cycling and wandering the metroparks and local beaches. She enjoys working with her hands and it's not unusual to hear her talking about her latest projects with her clients. Jess looks at everyday and everything with art potential. She makes jewelry and clothing from reclaimed materials. She also gardens with the intention to create a natural body care line in the future.
Jess is an avid reader and always interested in learning new things. To her working in the salon is like being on NPR, she loves listening to her clients both about their personal and prfessional lives.She loves yoga and reiki, and believes that natural wellness and stress management can solve a lot of health concerns. She volunteers at The Studio Cleveland as a desk yogi and would like to one day teach. She is also a certified reiki master.
